Where I lay in my bed shrouded by darkness
Restless, eyes wide open.
I found my phone and saw the date
First April
I won't forget to befool you
Life smirked.

बेटी बना जिसे वो लाया था,
लक्ष्मी का दर्जा जिसने उसे दिया था,
बेटे से ज़्यादा प्यार जिसे किया था,
पलकों पर जिसे बिठा कर रखा था,
खुद से पहले जिसके बारे में हमेशा सोचा था,
उसके दिल में क्या था,
शायद कभी सपने में भी ना सोच सका था।
जिस प्यार से उसे अपनाया था, उसी प्यार का फायदा उसने उठाया था।
जिसकी सब खामियों को जिसने भूला, उसे गले लगाया था,
उसी ने खामियाँ गिनवा, शरम से सिर आज झुकाया था।
उसे मायके की कभी याद ना आए, ससुराल में कोई गम ना उसे सताए,
रानी बना कर जिसने रखा था,
अपने घर में उसे ही भीखारी उसने बनाया था।
उसे कभी किसी चीज़ की कमी ना हो, ध्यान ये जिसने रखा था,
एक वक्त के खाने तक का मोहताज उसे बनाया था।
खुशियों से दामन जिसका भरा था,
दुख ही बस उसने दिया था।
बेटी बना जिसे शौक से वो लाया था,
उस रिश्ते तक को उसने कभी ना अपनाया था।
