Translucent promises.

Feelings tug her heart in different directions.

Every puddle she looks into,

she sees a different reflection.

Each night, her pillow knows only

of the moment she bleeds from her eyes.

Yet she continues

to sacrifice a bigger piece of herself

day after day,

just to prove she's enough.
