In as much we were all relieved that the pollution levels has drastically subsided, what brought us to realize the imbalance in our biodiversity was instances of bushfires in the USA, Australia, Brazil, the floods in Eastern Africa, in various parts of India..infact, who knew Australia's bushfires is linked to the floods in Eastern Africa!!, thereafter, locust infestations across Eastern Africa and in 5 of our states with the Centre issuing a warning to 12 states, cyclones and earthquakes rocking multiple cities across the world topped with the grim picture of 1 million species facing extinction...all raising more red flags than ever, indicating its never been a more crucial time to focus on biodiversity than now.
Words of Robert Swan resonates with the reality at this juncture,"The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will
save it."
