my empty quill embraces silence
it's overwhelming how it breaches the seams
from a vacant page still filled with resilience
Silently into a brooding heart it seeps
It's strange how the world still takes notice
of the emptiness with no form or colour
How without the use of words silence still speaks
and fills one's hollow with scoops from the other

Yesterday came looking for Tomorrow
But tripped over and fell on Today
Poor little fellow thought it could borrow
Some moments of time on its way
Sadly no one could feel Yesterday's sorrow
For missing its target by an entire day
And so it strictly kept straight and narrow
Giving Today twenty four hours to stay!

I secretly adore her
Though she's darker than black
she's mean, and cleverly hides
steely horns beneath her crown
razor sharp tongue behind sealed lips
fiendish heart with stone walls
arsenic in halcyon composure
I had met her at my weakest-
my doppelganger

Albeit, I umbrate her
with my virtuous cape and saccharine voice
nursing a fragile heart that breaks often
I'm the one who carries the halo
knowing I cannot emote openly
I wish to swap position sometimes
I know if ever I unleash her
I'll definitely be at my worst-
spell danger

Too heavy for your bare hands
too cold for you to carry
Too precious to leave behind
you decide it's best to bury
Inside the grave of your heart
laid to rest, each memory

When nature orchestrates its own music
leaving a note with every falling leaf
Soothing melody announcing the return
of yet another sonorous Autumn
You ushered in your lush green cloak
and now you return with fire and smoke
A second homegoing for dear summer
a farewell to yet another September

No love so ever deeply felt
Or loss as permanent
Words that said nothing
Of hearts that barely met
Missing, an understatement
Longing that never left
Parallels running together
In a world of the inept

To the comfort I got from
falling stars and wishing wells
To the ache that pushed me
to try harder than it ever gets
To the hope that never
dwindled with passing time
To the struggles that stayed
like faithful shadows by my side
To my destiny that taught me
it will always be what ought to be
To my present and for what I've
become I owe it to them but
mostly
To the things I never had ...

Bottled pain she held,
His thunder and lightening
frightened from leaving;
Carrying an ocean inside
drop by drop she escaped home

From thorns grow roses
And that's why I wish
From no sense may grow poesies
With a turn and a swish

Blue mountains are calling yet again
Come just this one more time
Leave behind the roads, the plains
sync in, just to feel the rhyme
