बरसता बादल से जल मानो इंद्र का संकेत है

मोक्ष पथ मुझको दिखाता या कोई नचिकेत है ?

नींद की आदत भी तुझसे मेल खाती है

तेरी तरह वो भी अपने मन से आती है

बरसो बादल के दिल कह रहा है
जल रहा है तन काजल बह रहा है

सावन में न दिखे गर एक मेंढक
तो सावन शरम से है ले मुँह ढक

अगर न खेले कोई बारिश में होली
क्यूँ लें साबुन धुले जिनसे है चोली ?

समंदर न बने अगर गली का नाला
पता कैसे लगे सरकारी गड़बड़ झाला ?

के सड़क पार रहती है बूढ़ी जमुना
इतना बरसो बादल वो ख़ुश हो जाये
पानी भर ले थोड़ा घर बह ना जाये !

व्यक्तित्व ही तो है तेरा तू अब भी बरकरार है
बाधाओं के अंत का अनंत ही विस्तार है
क्यूँ व्यर्थ सोचकर के तू खुद से ही हताश है
तू सोच मत तू कर गुज़र ये वक़्त की दरकार है
क्या भला कर्ण को है मातृसुख मिला कभी ?
या मिथिल नरेश को राम संग मिला कहीं ?
पर नाम तो जगत में हुआ है काम से सदा
किसको क्या मिला जगत ये न पूछता कभी
विचार तो विचार हैं विचार ही रह जाएँगे
जो कोसते हैं तुझे वो कोसते ही जाएँगे
तू सबका तज के साथ बस सारथी के संग बढ़
हवा के वेग से न डर बिना डरे तू विचर
न इधर न उधर जहां चलाये ईश्वर
उधर की ही तू राह ले न और कोई चाह रख
कठिन बड़ी है ये डगर , मुसीबतें हैं हर प्रहर
मुसीबतों को ध्वस्त कर , औरों की तू मिसाल बन
चार दिन का खेल है तू खेल का ये हाल कर
की लोग तेरी जय कहें मस्तक को तेरे लाल कर

While I play or do my task
‘Tis just one thing that I really ask
From God almighty that some day if
I am ill and growing stiff
Have no strength and will to live
I pray Jesus Allah and Shiv
Take all my wealth at that time
Spare me no juices forgive no crime
But do spare me a sight from my cot
Of my kin around me coz ‘twill be hot
There presence will soothe my soul
As it leaves to meet the Whole !

नज़र और दिल का कुछ ऐसा नाता है

दिल है घर नज़र घर का दरवाज़ा है

-

काश सबका घर यूँ रौशन हो जाए

प्यासा हो कोई घर पे कुआँ हो जाए


दिल दुखता है तो अब मन होता है

मेरी जगह मिरा दुश्मन ही रो जाए


सुखनवरों को देख ये लगता है

शायरी कहीं कहानी न हो जाए


मौत ही मौत देखता हूँ यहाँ ऐ खुदा

मुल्क ये कहीं क़ब्रिस्तान न हो जाए


हकीम आज की दुनिया का हाकिम है

खुदा करे मेरी उमर भी उसकी हो जाए

One evening I was standing on
The rooftop of my house
And dreaming of silly things
Like tom and jerry the mouse

‘Twas then that my eyes caught sight
Of the clouds which I felt might
Resemble two birds if seen
Through inward eye that sees things unseen

I saw them to each other close
As if the wind was making them pose
They stared into each other’s eyes
And had a moment twice or thrice !

My heart was felt with gratitude
Towards the forces of the latitude
I saw two birds depicting love
They were white so I called them dove

But then my father’s word came to me
He said life is like a leaf of a tree
The love birds slowly disappeared with the sun
As the wind had started changing direction

But many lessons did the love birds teach
They told me to eat the fruit till it’s in reach
And when you are there with your chosen one
It’s your time, live it , as the end is separation !

Someone sings offshore !

The country sounds dilute
The intensity of the dark
And rise above the cucumber fields
That makes the blackberry trees soar
Someone sings offshore !

A chirpy group of friends
Silently sit and listen to him
Unaware that someone
Listens to him offshore
Someone sings offshore !

‘Tis day I don’t know why do I wish
On hearing this lonely echo
The lad forever sings and
I listen to him forever for sure
Someone sings offshore !
