My old school self with stamps and cute envelopes,
Sealing this letter with a kiss, as my heart elopes.
In an ideal world, I'd write poetry of our love,
Framing it on our walls, as you blush about.
But alas, in this real world, we're apart,
Miles away, tugging at my heart.

Seeing couples hold hands while we cannot,
It's painful, as their joy is something we forgot.
Restaurants with your favorite food in sight,
Knowing dinner dates won't happen tonight.
Fate's question lingers, why must we bear,
Love tested by distance, life seeming unfair.

You make me roll my eyes, then giggle with glee,
With your talk of necessary evil, just you and me.
Memories bring smiles, and tears they weave,
Love's warmth, in which I believe.

I harbor a hatred for the distance so wide,
Jealous of those by your side.
Your laughter, your cheeks, missed each day,
I'd trade places with them, right away.

Till we leap into each other's embrace,
Your kissie faces on my screen, I trace.
Your breaking voice in our calls so dear,
Misty dreams at 3am, memories near.
Distance is tough, but love endures,
Every second brings hope, our love ensures.
