Sitting on a hilltop I gaze at the stars
Millions of them sharing the same sky
Yet each one lonely and afar.

Sitting on this hilltop I reminisce the days gone
The days of blissful youth
And the tragedies all borne.

Sitting on this hilltop i remember fairytales of old
Heroes and love glorified
And the truths untold.

Sitting here today I indulge in my solitude
Seperated from the life around

फिर ज़रा अलग सी जाने क्यों लगती है
उलझती है तो सुलझती भी है
पर ज़रा ज़्यादा उलझी जाने क्यों लगती है
गमगीन है कभी हसीन भी है
पर ज़रा ज़्यादा गमगीन जाने क्यों लगती है
यूँ तो..
हक़ीक़त की ज़मीं पर ही हसरतों की मीनारें हैं
पर रेतीली सी ज़मीं ज़रा ज़्यादा जाने क्यों लगती है
कहानी तो मेरी भी बचपना समझदारी सपने और समझौतों की है
बस समझदारी और समझौतों की कड़ियाँ ज़रा ज़्यादा
जाने क्यों लगती हैं
हाँ! सब सी ही तो है ज़िंदगी मेरी
पर ज़रा अलग सी जाने क्यों लगती है...

Flowing away with the winds
Searching a new abode
Withering all alone
