It took me twenty minutes
to mourn a friend
I had known for twenty months
Another twenty to lose trust in people
I had loved since my birth
I was done by then given my tolerance
when my grandma died on her birthday
which was perfectly fine I guess because
my eyes did not even flinch
and I could not write twenty days after
I thought of abandoning poems
My mother did say I was a good leaver
before I even had faith
but I do not know
if I should believe her because she said
time does not really matter
but it does

I am turning twenty

I wonder
if I'm next in line
to be forgotten
