As a human I tend to ignore the fact;
That the line between hopes and disappointments is thin.
Yet, being oblivious and with a thick skin
I climb up the ladder of expectations which stands tall,
But lo! Comes my way a situation unseen,
And down the ladder I tumble and fall.
A fall flat on my face,
With a painful crash and bitter grimace.
I get back up,
And stand proud with a smile
I search for a home,
Where my hopes could go on exile.
Till then; I wish to move to another shore,
Where the motto would be;
To expect less and love more.
And when about the feeling of crushed expectations I forget;
To the hunt of a broken world I shall set,
To get my heart broken again,
To get my flickering hopes extinguished again…

A recurring query haunts my heart,
How does it feel like living a curse?
And then I ponder…
About the times
I could count on none
But my stars,
Lonely nights shrouding my brain
With a train of mental wars.

How does it feel like living a nightmare?
Constant trudging above a fire pit;
Across a tightrope with steps precarious
And the flames below,
Trying to swallow me by being voracious.

As I muster up the energy;
To come with an answer,
A tidal wave crashes, sweeping me under,
Silencing my mental meandering
A reflective question to my heart it casts,
Am I really residing in a nightmarish zone?
Am I indeed living a curse?
Or am I lost
In labyrinths of my own?

Will you hold on to me
When the world takes us on a spin
When it questions our love
Will you make our love win?

Will you hold on to me
And my hand like a strong latch
When the society tries to tear us apart
And land us onto a rough patch?

Will you hold on to me
And stand by me against all odds
And safeguard our love
Like an oyster that shields its precious nods?

Will you hold on to me
And my broken pieces together tight
When we finally triumph together
And emerge victorious in the end’s first light?

The Hard Catch

They say I am a dragon fly,
Thrilling to chase;
But hard to catch.
So much so that;
Butterflies are no match.

But once I get caught,
A lesson I am taught,
Strings attached to me so tight
Constricting my movement;
Whenever I put up a fight.

But once their play with me ceases to pall,
I am left dangling by the strings,
Now that I no longer enthrall.

Yes, I am indeed a dragonfly;
Definitely no match to a butterfly,
With strings forever attached to my tyrants,
And a heart that is forever bound to their rants.

Star Crossed Strangers

How often do we cross paths with many?
And how many amongst those hold on to you for long?
I now have this epiphany;

That some stories though are meant to fall apart,
Hold on to every corner of your memory
And cling to your heart.

That though they are lost forever,
The reminiscences of them play in loop
Like it is the mind's only endeavour.

That some strangers are better at being strangers,
And perhaps some people are better
When they reside within us,
Not beside us...

Were You Even There!?

As I sit beside the window,
Seeing time pass by
With a glass of wine in my hand;
Which I sip slow,
I wonder how we came to an end
We never deserved,
How you abandoned me
Without being perturbed.

Things I did To get your attention
Mixed signals from your end,
Leading to many contemplations.
One moment you loved me like no other
Like loving me was your flair;
And the other moment you vanished Making me wonder
Were you even there!?

Wander'lust'

As he gently went through her appearance from top to bottom;
And ran his eyes through the curves,
He realised how much he missed exploring her passionately!
As if his life depended on doing so.
Although she tried to keep him at bay with her cold and hostile nature;
She couldn't deter his advances.
Finally after he switched off the roaring engine of his bike
And sat on the meadow to behold the beauty of the orange tainted sun going down behind the mountains,
He asked himself, "Who said that lust only had to do with physical attraction towards a human being?
Shouldn't it ideally also include Wonderlust?"

And when I loved;
I loved them more,
I loved them harder,
With a hope to be loved back,
and not rendered asunder.
But,
All I got was unappeased hunger,
The hunger for love that starved my heart.
And all I got was disregard,
Backs turned to my dismay,
And brought to my knees so hard.
Now that I rose from the ashes,
I started thriving in hatred and vengeance.
And I shall bring their downfall and decay,
I shall make them beg and pray,
And all the things they did to me,
For those I shall make them pay!

O Motherland of sages
The land of Yamuna and Ganges,
The nurturer of a billion children
May our devotion to you be strong across ages.

O Motherland of brave children,
We stand in unity
Ready to annihilate those,
Who try to break your integrity.

O Motherland of mine,
I bow to thee
As blessed I am to be,
A son of thine.

Let's just coexist,
Neither do you see me,
And nor do I.
Let's just reside in each other's hearts,
Neither do you fall for me,
And nor do I.
Let's just dream about each other,
Neither do you yearn for me,
And nor do I.
Let's just be far flung lovers,
Neither do you rest in my arms,
And nor do I.
Let's just be each other's bad memory,
Neither do you remember me,
And nor do I.
Let's just disregard each other,
Neither do you belong to my stories
And nor do I.
But, let's just coexist,
You just pray for me,
And so shall I...
