होठों पे मुसकुराहट है पर दिल में सूकून नही है,
चेहरे पे है थकन सबके पर आंखों में नींद नही है,

मुसतकबिल की राह पर उम्मीद का चराग लिये दौरे शबब चला जा रहा है,
ना लौट कर आ सकेगा जो बचपन वो पीछे खङा उसे आवाज़ लगा रहा है

काट कर ख्वाबों के पर, कैद करना पिंजरे में दुनिया की रीत रही है,
ज़िन्दगी की लाहासिल दौड में शौक को हराकर जि़म्मेदारियां जीत रही है।

Fariyad roz karenge,
Poochega koi kabhi baare m tumhare to Keh denge ki bhula diya,

           Those days of tranquility

Oh! Where are those days of tranquility, of tremendous elation and of felicity purity?

The days of charm and of exulting luxury,
When the mind was full of excitement and lovely lory,
When even the fairytale seems to be a true story.

The time when we were free and ready to fly high,
Committing mistakes was viewed as learning,
And of course were the apple of everyones' eyes.

When the village was a vacation spot,
Visiting there was done a lot,
Admiring the moon, glancing the stars at night,
Slumbering was done under the open sky,
Waking up in the morning with the nightingales' chirping delight,
The morning was fresh, so was the sunlight.

But now when I look at the mirror, I find those days are gone,
That little me has now grown.
I wish! Oh I wish! If I could live that time again,
Those days of pleasure intense.

Kal raat khuli aankhon se ek khaab dekha hai,
Bistar ki silwaton me umadta sailab dekha hai.
Ab to neend ne bhi thukra diya mujhe,
Apnon ko thukrate to kayi baar dekha hai.

Yeh hasratein hain jo gafil hain,
faqat mansuba to Arsh par likha ja chuka hai

Yeh kon si manzil ki talash me log yun nikalte gaye,
ki karwaan badhta gaya,
aur musafir bichadte gaye.
