हम देखते रह गए
और वो सामने से गुजर गयी
कैसे इतने सितम के बाद
बचते-बचाते,
दर-दर की ठोकरें खाते
उसे देख कर सुकूं पाया था
और शायद उसने भी मुस्कराया था
सोच रहा था थाम कर, साथ चला जाऊँ
इस सफर में साथ निभाऊँ
लेकिन ......

आज वो फिर बेगाना हो गयी
और मेरे स्टेशन पहुँचने से पहले
ट्रेन रवाना हो गयी ...

After I saw a farmer hanging on a tree
Even before the daylight.

विद्या के मंदिर में,
ये कैसा स्वांग, रचवाया जाता है;
लोग भुखे मरते हैं,
और यहाँ केक से, होली मनाया जाता है;
जन्मदिवस के नाम पर;
धुल जमी तस्वीर को, चमकाया जाता है
उन्हें फूलों का हार, पहनाया जाता है
वो सख्श उसी हार के पीछे
अपना चेहरा छुपाता है
क्योंकि, महफ़िल में इंसान अपने अंदर के
हैवानियत का नंगा नाच दिखाता है
चेहरे पर लगा केक देख
आईना भी शर्माता है
क्योंकि ये ढोंग, ना जाने कब
एक गंभीर बिमारी बन जाता है
इससे कोई कहाँ बच पाता है
यह तो, पीढ़ी दर पीढ़ी बढ़ते जाता है

But they seem to have taken no leverage of the notice....
