When we give up something which we already have then it's a 'sacrifice' , When we give up on something which we want to have then it's a 'compromise'.
As some sacrifice is needed to achieve something. So, Just like sacrifice , When we don't compromise on little things for our ultimate want (say peace of mind) , our ultimate want gets compromised.
