Where War Begins
It all starts
In the mind
Of one person
And turns into a magnet
That attracts people
Just like an ant discovering a cube of sugar
Then trail of ants follow
That is how one thought
Being born in one's mind
Gathers followers;
Only sugar is rarely pursued
In the dark world of man
Man aches for power
Even if that leads him
To destroy the beauty of simple life
A war where loved ones are lost
A war where fear strikes hope
A war that steals time out of lifetime
To etch in the history of mankind
But remember,
What starts in the head
Ends in the heart
When everything is burnt
Every cry goes unheard
I hope the ruins remind you
How one mind could hurt
Innumerous hearts
How one thought
Crippled evolution-
"I shall meet you at the end of the road"
Saying thus, we parted at crossroads-
They look for diamond in the glitter and shine
Unaware that it lies in the coal
They may overlook the beauty in your rawness
But you, my dear soul, have nothing to prove
The brightness lies within-
Lifetime of love
I met you in a lifetime long forgotten
We were lovers then
We are lovers now
Yet we do not remember somehow
Such is the memory of lives lived
Like sand from our palms slipped
You hold them lose or you hold them tight
None is ever right
But our love remains
From a lifetime long forgotten
To a lifetime that is now
I hope you remember, somehow-
They tell you
"Why are you sad? You've got all that you need"
"Stay strong. There are people depending on you"
"You just make up things in your head. You are FINE"
"Therapy? But you look normal? You don't appear to be a lunatic"
"You just need a vacation. Nothing is wrong with you"
"Why are you not able to be happy?"
"How immature! Grow up and take charge. You can't be depressed"
"Why are you not able to control your anxiety? It's not a big thing"
Words of encouragement they think
To buck you up
To help you rise
To completely ignore the health of your mind
To make you feel small for feeling the way you feel
They harm you more
Stop you from seeking help,
To reach out and express
But it's not about them
It's about you
There is help available
-
Every time you dislike your body
For being not what you wish it to be
Remind yourself of days
When your body supported you
Through adventures and sickness-
You are needed here
There is a part to play
On this mysterious blue ball
That is swirling in dark space-
You can either make or break someone's life
THAT kind of POWER is scary-
Each time I saw the sun merge into the sea
It felt like the union of lovers for eternity
Only as I approached nearer did I know
Love was but a distant dream
The horizon, an illusion
In the world of apparent reality
Lovers only run parallel to each other
Only at infinity they meet

A dead leaf fallen in the river knows no direction. Hence it goes with the flow, to wherever the river takes it. But that which is alive never goes with the flow. Like you and me. We cannot keep going where the current takes us. We have the potential to change our course. To go with, against, around, beneath, above or beyond the flow. In life, only when you have no direction, you will continue to go with the flow and take things as they come. But being alive isn't about taking things as they are served to you. You always have a choice to GET things in your own way and serve back something better. That's how you and I are different from the dead leaf.
