बिछड़ कर मुझसे अब तेरा भी कोई अंजाम हो,
चल, मोहब्बत छोड़, तेरा कुछ और ही काम हो।
ज़िन्दगी तो यूँ भी पहले रोज़ से वीरान थी,
तू गया तो क्या हुआ, ख़ामोशी में अब और भी आराम हो।
आँख में राख़ और सीने में जलन रखता हूँ,
इक तबाही हूँ मगर फिर भी क्यूँ तेरा नाम हो।
मैं बुरा था, बेशक ये ज़माने को सुना दे,
झूठ कहना है तुझे, तो कुछ ख़ुदा को भी इल्ज़ाम हो।

कुछ अलग सी कशिश है खुद से मोहब्बत में,
किसी के बिछड़ जाने का डर ही नहीं रहता।

अंधेरे भरे शहर में रोशनी की तलाश में,
तारों को ढूँढता धुएं भरे आकाश में,
उदासियों को हसी की फुहारों से छुपाता हुआ,
जान बूझकर फंसता एहसासों के पाश में,
आधा भरा जाम हाथ में लिए अपना पसंदीदा गाना गुनगुनाता हुआ,
सिर्फ़ एक बाज़ी जीतने की उम्मीद लगाए बैठा है 'तेज' ज़िंदगी की ताश में।

कितना अजीब फलसफ़ा है,
मेरे दिल के बंजर से निकले लफ़्ज़,
तालियों की बारिश ले आते हैं,
मेरे अधूरे ख़्वाबों से सजे ये शेर,
किसी को उम्मीदों भरे वादे दे जाते हैं,
देखो तुम्हें दिया वादा आज भी निभा रहा है 'तेज',
कि इश्क़ की लहरों से ख़ुद महरूम रहे किनारे,
आज भी डूबती हुई कश्तियां पार लगा आते हैं।

दरवाज़ा बंद कर दिया है मैंने आखिरकार,
अब तेरी यादों की मेहमाननवाज़ी और नहीं होगी

वक़्त और यादें
वक़्त चलता रहा, बेआवाज़ कहीं,
हम थमते रहे, तलाश में वहीं।
मोहब्बत की माटी, हाथों से फिसली,
हर लम्हा सिखा गया, ख़ामोशियों की रस्में भी।
जो अपने थे, वो पराए हुए,
ख़्वाब जैसे पलकों पे छाए हुए।
यादों के दरख़्तों पर लम्हे सजे,
कुछ टूट गए, कुछ सांसों से बंधे।
खोने का ग़म, और पाने की आस,
दिल ने लिखा है, एक अनसुना इतिहास।
दर्द और मोहब्बत हैं सफ़र के हिस्से,
हर मोड़ पर मिलेंगे, ये रूह के किस्से।
तो क्यों न हर लम्हा सहेज लें प्यार से,
क्यों न हर ग़म को गले लगाएं इकरार से।
क्योंकि वक़्त रुकता नहीं, बस सिखाता है,
जो जी लिया खुलकर, वही ये समझ पाता है।

ज़िंदगी की राहों में हर ग़म को सहना है,
अंधेरों के सीने में रोशनी को रहना है।
ख़्वाबों की परवाज़ आसमां तक जाएगी,
ज़मीं से सबक लेकर बुलंदियां पाएगी।

हर तूफ़ां से दिलेरी का रिश्ता निभाना है,
मुस्कान की लौ से हर अंधेरा मिटाना है।
रंज-ओ-ग़म के साए कब तक रहेंगे यहाँ,
जहाँ उम्मीद जले, वहां रोशनी का जहाँ।

रख रवैया ऐसा जो पत्थर को मोम करे,
जो ढहती दीवारों को फिर से खड़ा करे।
ज़िंदगी का हर सफ़ा इक नया इम्तिहान है,
जो आगे बढ़े वही मुकम्मल इंसान है।
