While one is communion with God through you, the other begins and ends with you.

Thank you for teaching me that past doesn't just vanish at the arrival of a new love interest how they show in rom-coms. It's way messier in real life and it starts with you. It begins with consciously deciding to let go and heal, to open up your heart to the new possibility of love, to feel completely okay and secure with being vulnerable again. And then only you find the one you'd been looking for. Not the other way round. Everything else in between is just a rebound.

Thank you for making me your rebound. It made me finally realize my worth.

Thank you for treating me the way you did. It showed me how I was treating myself, away from the eyes of the world, between the billion thoughts in the prison of my skull. Thank you for teaching me that I needed some changes in my life right away, starting with YOU.

Thank you for teaching me that courtship period is bullshit. It's the rush of the chase that made you say those things and do all those gestures. It's like the courtship period is the HR interview of the company, where you say anything to get in. No wonder I was surprised where you failed remarkably the appraisal of our relationship.

Thank you for showing that the real test of relationship begins after the chase ends and the 'Yes' is in your court.

Thank you for teaching me that you are no one's saviour and you can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved. Being saved is not a privilege or good karma, it's a choice. Being saved is not about finding the knight in shining armour, it's about being one. It's a decision you take for yourself for the betterment of you, to uplift and to evolve.

I was on a mission to fix you and maybe in turn fix myself. Little did I know that I would just end up as one of your patterns.

Thank you for teaching me that no one just falls in love. Falling in love is a choice taken by your body, mind and soul together as an entity. You fall in love over time, at your own pace with the consistency of your feelings.

Thank you for teaching me that if it hits you like a bang, then it fizzles just as easily.

Thank you for teaching me that intimacy isn't skin-deep. You can feel alone and untouched even with your naked body pressed against someone else's, that hickeys aren't declaration of love and hunger for body isn't the same as that for the soul.

It's about those touches in between the kisses, those gentle touches that say I'm here to catch you, the intertwining of fingers, the sniffing of hair, the breathing in of someone's essence, the after-morning soft pecks. That's intimacy which we never had. And it most definitely doesn't last for just one night.

Thank you for succeeding in life after you broke my heart. Thank you for making it work with the girl you want and getting the job that I know you'd have killed to have. Thank you for living your dream life because it makes me believe I can too. Now, I know being miserable is a choice and conscience can be switched on and off as per convenience, that waiting for karma to serve is pathetic and painful to say the least when you didn't even stop to watch your back. You didn't stop while I did. You moved on and I was stuck.

For the longest time you have walked like you owned the world and I have watched you in awe. I know better now. The world was never yours to own. So, forgive me but I have to make up for the time lost and up my walk with the loudest roar.
