My September Ghazal
The gestating year gears up for its birth in September.
The wait for good things is usually worth in September.
Winter is just around the corner, summer is on its retreat.
Unforgiving rains sometimes flood the earth in September.
Train journeys on sleepers are not as hot and humid.
With festivals awaiting, you don’t get berths in September.
Brace yourself for shorter days & longer nights, Harsh.
Keep awake, new stories will have no dearth in September.-
September returns!!
As the sun triumphs the hide and seek game
And the clouds say goodbye
The roses turn brown and the leaves turn yellow
Wait for the worthy things in September
With the onset of autumn, the arrival of fall
Winter is just around the corner
Brace yourself for longer nights
And fall in love with this fall
Make new stories with your older self
Love yourself a little more
Commit to yourself
Feel your happier self
Until then BE-LEAF in yourself
Do not fall AUTUMN-ATICALLY
-
September feels like
a lush green meadow
after a long trek
through the treacherous valley
that is the year.
You unpack the backpack,
take out the tent and set it up,
all ready to camp
and soak in the mountain sun.
The next few days,
it starts to rain and doesn't stop
for days and weeks
and you don't know
what to long for more?
the cold year ahead
or the dry year behind?-
