Two drops of Tears

He was staring out of the window. Gloomy darkness was hovering and lurking in the room.
He must be around 6, great 20 years younger than me. Lost in his thoughts he was fidgeting with origami.

May be my silence spoke something in his ears, so he turned to face me.
His glance travelled from me to warden and back to me.
I asked for a few alone moments.

As soon as warden was gone, he surprised me with a hug.
He came running and threw his arms around me.

And said "mom u come to take me" his smile blocked all my thoughts,
the introduction I was rehearsing, "hello I'm your step-sister" died somewhere in my throat.

And I nodded my head and simply managed to say "yes" hugging him tightly and wiped my tears.

MAPS FOR LOST LOVERS

"So you mean to say that he is my lost lover." I pointed towards a tall guy standing at some distance.

"Maps never lie" her voice deepened the mystery in the atmosphere.
Her Gypsy attire fascinated me just like a little girl fascinated by dolls.

"He will come to you" she whispered in my ears, her warm breath tickled me. she had pulled me to a world of magic and legends.
"Fine" I stood up breaking her spell. As I was about to leave her stall she placed a map in my hand.

Leaving her stall, I wandered further into the market and
spotted same guy in the crowd, slowly I followed him. It was difficult to cope up with his pace and he was enjoying my misery.

When we were far enough from that fortune teller's stall I poked him.
"you are my lost lover."
he smiled and then we burst out laughing.
between our merriment he said
"Di, shall we tell her we are siblings."

Lend me your ears

"I still have one person left on my list,
Before I call it a day. I'm annoyed with this monotonous work, covering long distances and waiting for long hours
and in return, I get curses and hatred of people. I listen to their endless babbling. Sometimes I yearn to talk and vent."

She was listening to me with great interest.
" thank you for lending me your ears." I tried to sound grateful.

The old lady gave me a heartwarming smile.
"I waited so long for you." she chuckled
"why would someone want to meet me, "I asked in surprise.
"I always wanted to meet you, see you, and talk to you," there was a genuineness in her voice.

"it's time for us to leave" she indicated the clock.
" I think you don't want to spend your night with a dead woman and you need to rest, indeed being a reaper is not easy. " was her final words.

She slightly tilt her head right and again read the message left on her fridge by her unknown lover.

she whispers with amusement.

" You are making

so nice of you."
She chuckles and
stare at the message
with a fervent delight.

She pulls a drawer and gaze with pride.
"Hey soon we gonna have fun."
She excitedly touches sharp blade of her knife and

They were continuously playing pathetic wedding songs, me and my windows were shuddering with this torture. I tried to read novel but it didn't work.
Standing in balcony novel in hand, I saw them dancing.
Dancing!! it was more like a fit, they were throwing their hands and legs in all directions.

When the dam of my endurance broke. Something click me. I went in the middle of gathering and screamed: "how could you do this to me."
My words had a profound effect on them, someone turned off those songs and they all stare at me like I was an alien.

The groom was horror stuck. Everyone stared groom with questioning eyes which he replied by stammering " I don't know her, believe me"
now it was my turn to play my card.
"If you want a peaceful wedding don't play those damn songs again." and I left.
At least I will enjoy a few hours of silence and my book.

A shadow lurking in dark, slowy advancing towards my home with slow slithering movements.
I strained my eyes and ears,
To see who is venturing in my territory, In this cold freezing night. I can smell an unknown danger. I went room to room to alert to wakeup my family but they were to deep in sleep.
I tiptoed and went out, with all my courage and skills I was ready to launch myself on my enemy but,
"Hey kitty what are you doing out side in cold, no stupid fights. let's go inside and sleep with mama."
She grabbed me in her arms and took me back in the warmth of home.
