A piece of paper fell out of my wallet,
It seemed vague yet familiar,
Like everything from the past,
Memorable and story like.

The money in the wallet,
Did not matter,
The cards - plastic,
The memories had taken over.

The wallet was a gift,
From someone special,
For something we shared,
Memories unlimited.

While it may get empty sometimes,
It fills my heart with warmth,
Love, and richness,
Of the kind no wallet can.

It used to take days to deliver then,
But only seconds now,

Lengthy pages were beautiful then,
Apology precedes length today,

Handwriting conveyed everything then,
Typing seems like a professional cover-up,

I still have a file full of those letters,
I have million emails unread now,

Those old yellow pages with fading ink,
Bring back so many memories of school,

I learnt to write an email in college,
On a black screen,
Mail to email.

I write emails like letters,
My whatsapp messages are like novels,
Mail to email.

Send me more mail,
I will respond,
To mail by mail.

Safe from prying eyes.

The entwined fingers,
Eyes unable to look away,
It was a matter of time.

The indelible moment,
When the lips met,
Timelessness was real.
