"Sure uncle! I also have a younger sister. Shall we take her along? Come home, my parents are off to work," he invited.

Little did the paedophile know that the 8 year old promised a sumptuous dinner to his cannibal family.

"I have my mom's skeletons in my closet!" I wrote, when my teacher asked me to write a sentence using an idiom. She yelled at me, in front of the whole class.

"she wouldn't yell anymore, right?" I asked my dad when I picked her skeletons from the place we buried her years back.

"She won't," dad smiled. "All those who yell deserve being in a closet," he said, arranging her bones next to my mum's.

Finally, I was where I wanted to be- at my new digs in Mumbai. A single woman, living in her own flat, fully independent.

There was just one thing that bugged me.

The window in my bedroom overlooked a vast, empty plot behind my apartment complex. Since the day I moved in, something about the window bugged me.

That something was keeping the window open past sundown-- it always felt like someone was watching me. I always shut the window before sunset come summer or winter.

Only later I would learn that the ghost of a headless woman waited on the ledge below the window, for the first few days, every time a new tenant moved in the apartment.

If your window wasn't closed past sundown, she would climb in during the night, while you were sleeping.

And take your head.

"Adrian, I love you to your bones. We're made for each other. I can't wait to start our lives together!" I said.

I buried him at my backyard. Waiting for his lungs to be filled with dead soil. For his flesh to be eaten away. For his bones to be ready! To start a fresh life with me.

"Varshini, understand. I'm not in love with you. I don't know what you saw in me.." he yelled.

"You made me fall in love with you. You, your gestures, the way you look at me, you.. you made me feel so special," I squirmed. I fell on my knees and started crying.

I glanced up to him and the cloudless sky. "You should understand how it is to fall," I screamed. I walked up to him and pushed him with all my strength. From the 40th floor.

"That. Is. how... It feels...," I screamed, looking down the balcony.

"Why are you so tired, Hari?" She asked out of concern.

"I share my bedroom with my father. He snores so loud that I just can't sleep." Hari said casually.

"Hari, it's been a week that your father died. What are you talking about?"

"I.. I don't.. don't know," Hari fumbled.

Alone in his room at midnight, Hari heard someone snoring loudly again.
