Coldness invaded my room long ago,
Across many summers.
Now, when this winter looks at
The tress shedding leaves,
You stand by the closed window,
Leaning on the cold wall.
I, stand near the fireplace,
Warming my numb hands.
Your eyes watching
The wood crack on fire,
Mine? On the frosted windowpane.
