He was gay, his parents knew,
Pride made them hide the truth from view,
In love with a man, his father killed,
Justice failed, his life unfulfilled.
Divorce became our destiny,
To set us free, to make us see,
Twenty years later, I write this verse,
A resurrected soul, a life to rehearse.
He vanished, but a letter came,
Thanking me, no longer the same,
The first time I smiled in so long,
The cool breeze of hope, my heart's new song.
Life spares no one, good or bad,
But love, at times, can make us glad,
I wish him joy with his soulmate,
As I embrace my fate, not too late.
