Evil tempts with abundance and glory and that too quickly. But it demands soul in lieu of that, like in the case of Doctor Faustus. It seduces the worthy ones by showing the contrast between the lives of their slaves and those who chose not to sell their soul. The contrast is too tempting. But the chosen ones know the consequences in the long term.

The tempted ones can't see beyond the short term abundance. The awakened ones also experience abundance via using correct means which sometimes may take some more time than others due to the immense confusion created by the evil forces.

The chosen ones take time to fully awake as more than positive forces the negative forces work with more vigour and passion than the positive ones. The silence of the lambs loses in front of the violence of the fox, if the shepherd doesn't save them on time. The shepherd always guides them.

Sometimes they don't listen to the intuition or the voice of the conscience that's why they suffer. Always look at the bigger picture instead of the short term gains.
