I am stuck here with the last line of our last conversation where you said something about moving on. I still remember how you hid a greater amount of pain than me in saying that. I stormed out of that door and also your life without a goodbye and a last hug.

I spent days thinking about what went wrong. I used to search for your fragrance in the journeys, one compartment to another, one city to another. My world where sunshine had curtains of a prophecy called love and nights came in with extra moonlight that absorbed pain slowly started falling apart.

Soon I started searching you in habits of people around, in a story that inflicted pain, in songs that had heartbreak but never actually found you. Rather I saw you in anonymous smiles on the street. In the only source of light in darkness. In the winds that gently brushed my face with a lullaby. These things made me happy. You made me happy. And I want you to remember like my happiness. Because that is what you were to me.

FLIGHTLESS

I don't know
what kills me more—
being caged for ages
or finally let out into the open
and not being able to fly.

before it all crumbled
it was worshipped
wholeheartedly
the moss rolled and hugged
all it came to touch
even my heart
and I was damp
still clutching on to the plank
stubborn as a rock
who never fathomed
how to give up
the last leaf
of the lot

ANGEL

long before he grew a pair
of horns,
he was an angel
and had a pair
of wings
as beautiful and divine
as paradise could commemorate
he would genuflect to none
but to One
until his obedience
became his downfall
the question is
why he became a demon
and who cut off his pair
of wings
and inserted
behind his head a pair
of horns

In the middle of an heated internal statement in my mind,
my mind somehow kept replacing the word 'God' with 'Dog' and man I tried to get that sentence right for three freaking times before this epiphany popped up.
That 'God' spelled backward is 'Dog'.
Mind absolutely blown!
The argument finally came to rest, just for a while atleast before it resumed, obviously.

ENLIGHTENMENT

whether it was the Bodhgaya
or the earth that anchored it
which moved him
toward the light
whether it was the tree
that grew within him
and took him to his roots
to link his present
to the future and the past
whether it was all of that
which brought him closer
to the truth
or whether it was the realization
that nothing in this life is true
except the light
and so he grew
like all life does to seek and grow
the spirits of our beings—
toward the light

We are sometimes blind to what is crystal clear, and sometimes we see things that don't exist.
