The Destroyer of Your Life

I came like a whisper, soft in the breeze,
With promises sweet, a heart to appease.
You welcomed my love, a radiant flame,
Yet slowly it burned, and I was to blame.

I was the sun that kissed your skin,
But left you scorched, the fire within.
I was the rain, a soothing embrace,
Yet drowned your soul in my endless chase.

Like vines, I crept, so gentle, so sly,
Entwining your heart, yet reaching the sky.
But my roots suffocated, they strangled your air,
I was the storm you thought wouldn’t dare.

My laughter was music, a melody divine,
But echoes of sorrow became your design.
My eyes, like stars, lit paths in the night,
But blinded your vision, stealing your sight.

You thought I was freedom, a limitless sea,
Yet chains of despair were all I could be.
My love was a tempest, a force unrestrained,
A destroyer disguised, leaving you pained.
