Sing to me quietly
a hymn that has no Sun
parting the blues
of the sky and the sea

The day you did not
place the first picked glass
with minor defects
back on the rack
to buy a perfect one,
many of my fears
dropped to zero.

This Deepavali, I wish you
abundance of choices.
May the light guide you
to the choice
that will help you
make the best
even out of your unlit days.
May you be chosen
to err, to learn, to live
to love, to light and to be right.
This Deepavali, may you confide
in your capacity to choose!
Happy Deepavali!

I belong to a place
where women have stepped out of their houses
to sell Gol gappa!
and also,
where women still cover their mouths
while eating them
just because they are told
they are supposed to...
and mostly because
they themselves think
it's a must...

The other day I googled "How to know if the mangoes are ripened artificially?" It said- by the lack of uniformity in its appearance.
Now that I think of it, I come to believe that it was a thing of common sense; and that it can be applied to anything or anyone that gets sold, alone by showing off.

Your embrowning garden
I often see
through my window
But my door
allows me not
to water anymore
-
Ocean
Profound, incessant
Reverberating, cleansing, rejuvenating
Constantly refining its core

Pieces, at times
don't fall in place.
They just fall
and let their edges
break apart,
making way
for a better piece.
To be honest,
just a better
fitting piece.
Why not try
letting them overlapped
and discover
new colors?
