As i sit down today to light the diyas
I can see the cheerful smiles that it lits up instantly
As they say, light has won over darkness today,
Your beautiful smiles will also win over your sorrows.

I can fill the chills as its getting cold outside
So, let's join our hands to feel the warmth
Of millions of diyas that we lit in our houses
And unite our hearts in humanity
Praying for the world battling the evils begins
Lurking within the human bodies

I can see my family getting together after a long time
Laughter bursts into happiness with your loved ones
Rather noisy crackers with unsettling smoke
Glowing faces light up the environment with warmth and joy.

लेकिन बातों की ताज़गी नई सी हो

चाय की चुस्की हो
सूरज की हलकी सी रौशनी भी हो

बातों को जज्बातों में पिरोती रहो

समय का पहिया रूक जाए वही पे
सब कुछ पहले जैसा ही हो

You stay up late
Watching the lights switch off
The street darken
Lit by moonlight
The ceiling of your stare back at you
As you lie upon your bed
A mind full of memories;song and bygone dreams.

11pm hits; still no sleep
12pm blinks; gone in a flash
1am flickers; a distant pleasure
2am dance; soldiered dance
3am burns; your eyes begin to tire..

You told yourself you wouldn't stay up late
Not again
Not after the last;
You were certain
Certain as your back against the mattress
Tomorrow will be a good day!
But tomorrow is already here...
