•//An ode to the Lost Love//•

I gave up my sleep to the darkness of nights,
And composed an ode to the dirt of Love.
A lament to the lint of my scars
For tugging it amid the process of healing.
Over and over again
For my eyes wide open
For you, to read;
That I forgot about you long ago,
I forgot why I needed to,
I forgot your ephemeral existence,
For that you were never real.
Your deafening silence doesn't bother me anymore,
For you left me from where you'd brought me back
To the conjuring nights- where i once belonged,
In the hollowness of my thoughts.
And to learn by heart
That I belong to distorted
Parts of my own self,
The cinders of yesterday are
Still afresh and I'm paving my way
To recreate myself;
For you to know,
I lied, I lied to my teeth everytime
When I said I'm in love
Perhaps my lies saved me from
The graveyard of lost Love.

// गजल - क्या है //

उसके चले जाने का ये गम क्या है?
मेरी आंखों में ये जरा सा नम क्या है?

दरस्तगी जो बयां हो इश्क़-ओ-मोहब्बत के,
कमबख्त वो शहर छोड़ जाए, सनम क्या है?

ऐतबार ना रहा मिरा खुद के जहन तक पर,
अब तो खुद खुदा ही बताए, कि हरम क्या है?

मेरी गजलों से मशहूर हो रहा है, वो शक्स
मिस्ल-ए- वफा की पनाही में, शरम क्या है?

मिल जाएगी खाक में इक दिन मोहब्बत मेरी,
जो हकीकत ये है तो फिर, वहम क्या है?

लिख देता हूं याद में उसकी यूं ही पन्ने उठा कर
अब मुझे क्या पता ये दर्द- ए- मरहम क्या है?

••// An Epitaph//••

Once, You asked when will you write for me?
Here, I'm writing you a piece.
But look at the tragedy,
You're not here to read it.

Old Friend, Though you left without
Saying a Goodbye,
Yet, You are not forgotten
noR will you ever be.

The bonding we had was like that of brother,
The darkest secrets we shared with each-other.

From the tales of Cricket to the talks of politics,
When we met, we always had a long list.

The planned life journey and the stories,
The organic farming and the long road trip
All will remain in my memory.

Dear old Friend!
As long as my heart beats,
Thou shall remain in me.

The dawn settled in her eyes and
Rage reborn out of her grief
Crossfire me underneath the cartilage
If I could I would lure the fire
But I'm bound with subtle ligaments
To palliate her limbs
With a soft epilogue
If only she preserve my vain existence
In her wretched core.

••// The Song Of Melancholy //••

What made her leave, Who summoned her that night?
Her corpse in the grave still trying to fight.

She said- she is out of time, she wants to talk for the one last time,
Her voice began to shake as she gave-up against the plight.

People cry and grief as they lose their loved ones,
But he didn't grief nor did he lose his sense or sight.

Probably he is emotionally deaf or he has lost the empathy,
Or may be he thinks mourning will not help, as there's no light.

The letters of her still haunts him in the dark nights, as he reads-
It quotes - Don't mourn! "You weren't destined to be my knight".

They ask, what's wrong with him, why doesn't he write ?
Stuck in his thoughts, he questions, Is there anything left to write?

••// गजल - नहीं तो //••

नज़रों को अब भी उसका इंतजार है, क्या - नहीं तो,
दिल में अब भी उसके लिए प्यार है क्या - नहीं तो।

कश्मकश में अब भी गुजरती है क्या रातें,
अब भी उसकी बातों पर ऐतबार है क्या - नहीं तो।

आवाज़ में खनक नहीं पहले जैसी अब तुम्हारी,
बातें नहीं होती उनसे ? कहीं वो लाचार है क्या - नहीं तो।

रंग भी तुम्हारे चेहरे का उतरा- उतरा रहता है,
बसा लिया उन्होंने गैर के साथ घर-बार है क्या - नहीं तो।

लिखते नहीं अब भी उसकी बेवफाई के किस्से तुम,
लेखनी तुम्हारी बीमार है क्या - नहीं तो ।

कविताएं उसपे लिखी महफिलों में अब भी सुनाते हो,
सच कहना "सुधांशु" अब भी वो तुम्हारा यार है क्या - नहीं तो।

Night scares me days are frightening, O, Romeo.
Your silence is deafening say something O, Romeo.

You promised you'll be there every then and now,
You lied to your teeth, you too turned cunning, O, Romeo.

Parsons said people are selfish their act is driven by a motive,
Look you made Parsons true- it's all happening, O, Romeo.

You left and didn't even say ciao as if you never cared,
But deep down you do, why are you pretending, O, Romeo ?

You've seen this film before and you didn't like the ending, O, Juliet
Be my queen, I'll be your king, I said the thing, O, Juliet.

// Ghazal- In New Delhi //

The summer is hot and dry in New Delhi
I buy collyrium for her eye in New Delhi.

People come from everywhere to this city,
But if the city doesn't like, one has to cry in New Delhi.

Things are never easy, you have to struggle for everything;
But keep enjoying, take metro, eat some french-fry in New Delhi.

While travelling you'll find many street food, all are tasty;
But Chole- Bhatore- Aah! You must try in New Delhi.

There's nothing you can't find in this city-
Lehnga and Education are sold high as sky in New Delhi.

So many people sleep hungry- so many broke,
Sometimes you'll feel there's no good guy in New Delhi.

They ask, "Sudhanshu" why do you like this city- so much?
I found "KAJAL" for her to apply in New Delhi.

वो कहती है, 
पी कर बहक जाता हूं मैं,
घर का पता तक भुल जाता हूं मैं,

अब क्या सबूत पेश करूं उसे मैं अपनी यादाश्त का,
नशे में भी उस पर लिखी कविताएं सुना आता हूं मैं।
