आखिरी खत बता के हजारों खत लिखे हैं मैने,
अब मसला यह है कि अब जब तुम मिलोगे
पता ही नहीं कि सुनाएंगे कौनसी।

अब फिरसे बेवकूफियां कर रहे हैं हम,
जिनसे मिलना ही नहीं,
उन्हीं पे अल्फ़ाज़ जाया कर रहे हैं हम।

चलो तुम्हे अब तंग नहीं करेंगे,
अपनी नाराजगी की वजह किसको ठहराआगे अब तुम।

लिखे हैं उसके नाम के कविताएं बहुत
पर आज सारी ग़ज़लें पढ़ डालीं
उसे आखिरी एक भेजने के लिए।

जबकि नाराजगी तो बस यह है उनसे,
हमारा ज़िक्र तक नहीं उनकी शायरी में।

मसला तो यह है कि उसे पता तक नहीं
की मेरी सारी पंक्ति बस उसी के लिए ही तो हैं।

अब जमाने भर को खबर हो गई,
अब बस उसे खबर हो जाए
इसी के इंतेज़ार में हैं।

भागती रहती हूं रोज किसी न किसी से मगर
तुझपे आके रुकना मेरी मजबूरी नहीं मर्जी है।

For a long time I believed you have to be there for the people you love,
but sometimes loving them from a distance can save both of you.

उसने जैन इलिया का जिक्र क्या किया
मेरी कलम अब हर शाम उनकी पंक्तियों को
अपनी किताब में समेटने का काम करती हैं।

"Do you think people drift away from each other without any reason?" He asked hesitantly.


"Umm, if I want to sound mature, I would either point out the destiny or the timings but the truth is these things just happen. No one wants to drift apart but at the end everyone needs to accept the truth. Isn't it?" She ended the answer with a smile.

The more time you spend
thinking about the piece
that you are going to write
the more complicated it becomes.

The more you write
and edit it several times,
it brings out the clarity.

The same applies to your life.
It's better to start working
on the ideas you already have
than to wait for them
to become perfect.
