तब रात, एक दोस्त बनकर, पास आ जाती है।

तो रेत री महल ज्यूं होवे,
पळ में ढह जावै जद वेलो आवे धोरो।
धरणी सूं ऊंचो कोई होतो कोनी,
जिको सिर झुके, वही राज रो हकदार होवे।

एतबे आस में जीबैत छी,
तोर बोलीक मिठास, सपना मे हर राति लैत छी।
हवा संग आबि तोहर खुशबू मनके छू जायत अछि,
बिछड़ल रहियो, प्रेम हमर तोरा मे बसल रहि जाइत अछि।

तो वक़्त भी चुपचाप ठहर जाता है,
तेरे होंठों की लहरों में
मेरे दिल का समंदर बह जाता है।

वो मुस्कान, न रौशनी है, न हवा,
पर फिर भी जीवन भर का सुकून है।
जैसे किसी राग में बसा हो प्रेम का रंग,
तेरी हँसी में ही मेरा सारा जहाँ बसता है।
