The pain hidden behind a smile
A friend knows from a mile
Even if it's been a while

They don't treat you differently
Certainly don't make you feel like an inconvenience
Go out of there way
To distract
Take your mind off things
Even if you don't want to talk
They're there
Probably silly things
To get a giggle on your face
Accept flaws & all
A text to say hi how are you or call

Treasure those that are real friends
That choose to accept your wild
Happy or mild
Dry the tears or let them flow
