Two loving souls,
Now two souls.
Love escaped
'Escaped'
Out of the window
'Window'
Where it all began
-
I'm a woman
I'm real
Yet in a bubble
I'm simple
Yet so complex
You know me
Yet you can't read me
I'm predictable
Yet can surprise you
I'm fragile
Yet strong
-
First Love
I met him when I was 21
He knew I was the one
I knew he loved truly
He got down on his knee
And proposed with roses
A dramatic cinematic moment
Where you hear the violins
But there weren't any
Our views were different
So were we
But we were perfect
Like flowers and bees
I loved him too
But he loved me more
So much more
That it made my feet cold
I ran away
Away from that perfect love
Away from that iconic story
Where cindrella left her shoes
And left the prince hanging
With one shoe in his hand
Wondering if she's ever gonna come back-
A working father
Dear kiddo,
I wish to spend some time
I really do
But my hands are tied
And so are my feet
My brain is clustered
And so are my thoughts
But my heart, my heart
Belongs, beats for you
How I wish I'm home early
To cuddle and annoy
Hear you laugh
And wipe your tears
when you are hurt
But all I do
Make money for your future
And not be your present-
Man! Oh Man!
I pity thy state
You accept change,
Your own pulls you down
They mock for being just
They call you names
As you break the chains
Of patriarchy.

Food is life
Source of energy
Never liked it
As a child
Felt
Life is more than food
Playing, jumping
Tiring to death
Before collapsing
Mom would feed
A tired eye
Waiting to retire to bed.
Though the food
Never mattered
Now when I look back
I crave for the food
A tired mouth consumed.-
I have attended funerals
But never felt the emotion
I understood the feeling
But it never struck a chord
Until I touched his ice cold body
Never thought he would die
Thought he would always be around
To give a bear hug
When I'm cold
To give me an earful
Even though I ain't wrong
To irritate the core
And awaken the rebel in me
— % &I wasn't ready Papa
For your departure
I wanted to take you
Out for dinner dates
Have our father daughter banter
Life is unplanned
You surprised me today
When your sweet sweat smell
Filled my room again
You always know
When I need you the most— % &-
Tickets were not confirmed
Got in a general compartment
And laughed victoriously
As we managed to find two seats
Only to end up worrying
He asked, "What's the matter?"
I don't know,
Got up and checked my seat
Had painted it all red
Didn't know how to say
He understood, made me calm
Said nothing to worry
Take the napkins
Change your clothes
Even joked about the place
Said no one would dare to sit
— % &How would I use the washroom?
No place to keep my leg
Took courage
Crossed the sea of people
I came back
With head hung in shame
To my surprise
My younger brother
Held his head high
Cleaned up my mess
And offered tea
Embarrassed Me wondered
When did my baby brother grow up!— % &-
Imperfect happenings
And you wonder
What a ruined day!
But...
I ain't built that way
To sit and ponder
Rather bounce back
Make this dampening
An imperfectly perfect day!-
We set ourselves free
Not bothered by others
Thoughts, whims, fancies
We gain freedom when
Our minds not captivated
Not dictating its terms,
And shattering life into pieces
