रात! तेरे दिल में क्या है,
क्यूं यूं मुझे तड़पती है,
क्यों मेरी नींद चुरा ले जाती है,
बेखयाली रातों में भी मौत का ख्याल दे जाती है।
सुभा तक श्वास भी नई ले जाति है ,
क्यों रात भर इस दिल को धड़कती है,
पुरानी बातें याद दिलाती है,
फिरसे बेखयाली रातों में मौत के ख्याल दे जाती है।

इत्ने सालो से चुप रहे तो जी रहे थे,
अब जब सब को मेरे हलत बताया है तो,
मौत का ख्याल रोज आने लगा है ज़ेहेन में।
