Ode to my Father

To the man who held my hand and taught me how to write.
To those days when I got sticks for my horrible handwriting.
To the man who sacrificed everything and stood for me.
You are a blessing "Oba"

(Been 24 years now, since he taught me, but to everyone's disappointment my handwriting is still more horrible)

Men and women are a creation of God. So, why inequalities and discriminations when both are created by the one above?

I am a Woman,
and my so called "Society" sets up these standards and unfairly expects me to adopt:
wake up early because I am a woman
respect man because I am a woman
be well-mannered because I am a woman
learn the art of cooking because I am a woman
talk politely in a soft tone because I am a woman
walk properly because I am a woman
eat less because I am a woman
settle down before 30 because I am a woman
So,
I tell you, society
stop inculcating these rules on me,
stop labeling me
we are all human
let's be humane and live like a human.

How good it would be if only people could understand you the way you do.

Everyone says they know you but only few understands you.

"Laziness" indeed is just a word.
But it takes a great deal of effort to overcome it.
Is laziness really the frailty of human nature?

For sure you and I can't be together, but ah! I'm on the verge of falling for your innocence.
