Sending children to English medium schools is now the elegant status symbol of *MODERNISM* . *MODERNISM* doesn't depend on speaking English . *MODERNISM* doesn't depend on anybody's attire . Nowadays modern people's body exposing outfits are closely similar to the primitive's bark garments . So how can we call them MODERN !

Actually in present days , people mostly misguided by pseudo modernism . *MODERNISM* means positive liberal thinking , flourished ideas , developed mentality .

বছর ঘুরে চৈত্র সংক্রান্তির বিশেষ দিনটি এসে উপস্থিত । সমগ্র কান্দি শহর মেতে উঠেছে উৎসবের মরশুমে । এসে গেছে কান্দির রুদ্রদেবের প্রাচীন পরব "হোমের মেলা" । গাজনের মেজাজে আমোদিত সন্যাসী ভক্তরা বোলানের প্রস্তুতি নিচ্ছে । চরক নয় নীলপুজোর পুণ্যতিথিতে হয় এই জাঁকজমকপূর্ণ প্রাচীন অনুষ্ঠান হোমের মেলা । চৈতালী হাওয়ার আবেশে নিমজ্জিত , মেলার বিভিন্ন সরঞ্জামের দোকান পরিবেষ্টিত , আলোর রোশনাই এ সজ্জিত হয়ে কানা মুয়ুরাক্ষী নদীর তীরবর্তী পবিত্র স্থান হোমতলা , উন্মুখ নয়নে আহ্বান জানাচ্ছে আদিদেব মহেশ্বর ও তার ভক্তদেরকে । রুপোর পালকিতে রুদ্রদেবের রূপপুর হতে হোমতলা যাত্রা ও বিশ্রামতলায় বিশ্রামের বেদীতে আসনগ্রহণ , লালরাঙা বসনধারী ব্রহ্মচর্যরত সন্যাসীদের লাঠিখেলা , ভক্তদের জলঢালা পর্ব , নদীতে ভক্তগণসহ দেবতার স্নান ও পরিশেষে হোমযজ্ঞ ,.......এভাবেই আয়োজন করা হয় কান্দির ঐতিহ্যবাহী " হোম উৎসব "এর ।

দোকান থেকে আসা হালখাতার কার্ডগুলো দৈনন্দিন ব্যস্তজীবনের কঠোর বেড়াজাল ভেঙে জানান দেয় আসন্ন বৈশাখী উৎসবের । প্রহর গোনা শুরু করে তখন সকল বাঙালি হৃদয় । গণেশ পুজো , হালখাতা , নতুন জামা , গুরুজনদের প্রণাম , আত্মীয়-স্বজনের সাথে জমায়েত আড্ডা ও তার সাথে বাংলার ঐতিহাসিক মিষ্টান্ন রসগোল্লার অমূল্য ভান্ড ..... সব নিয়েই রসিক বাঙালির ঐতিহ্যবাহী অনুষ্ঠান ....... নববর্ষ ।
সেই বাল্যকাল থেকে পরিণত বয়োঃপ্রাপ্তিতেও যার প্রতীক্ষা বাড়িয়ে তোলে মনের চঞ্চলতা , তারই নাম ..... পয়লা বৈশাখ ।
