A snail.
Slow but steady.
Something that we can't deny,
Whose existence is too overwhelming .
December crawled in like an infant and it would grow into a complete individual within the limited lifespan of 31 days.
And just like humans it would go through the cycle of life and death and would eventually end giving birth to another new year.
December is just too much for us, the undeniable identity whom we can't neglect but embrace with warmth and wait for it to leave us slowly and silently.

THE STOLEN LEAF

I lost the leaf in which you confessed your love for me,
I still regret keeping the window open that night,
Lest if you come and I fail to hear your call...

I've still kept the windows open for you
When will you come?
The window panes are rusty now yet I've kept them intact only for you.

That night the wind took away the leaf from me-
Where you had scribbled your emotions with hands of yours.
Until that night, I slept only after murmuring the contents of the leaf.

The leaf had a tinge of reddish-orange hue, warm and bright as our love.
But the same autumn in which I found you, took away the leafy-letter
And left my world barren, in absence of the last symbol of you.

So in every autumn morning, amidst the windy rocky pavements
I walk and stand under those falling red leaves
And wait to catch, that one leaf which I had lost years ago.

Are you coming back?
Are you sending another autumn leaf?
With the words written, " Never let me go".

How deep the burnt was!
How vulnerable the scars were.
That once there was a fire, unable to be extinguished.
It kept plundering houses and fields till no flesh was left.
The fire burnt not just for a night, but
for an entire century.
It kept burning until
everything turned into ash, one fine day.
We smeared the ash on ourselves, then dived into the pool of trauma,
We came out as new beings, no not Humans anymore.
New beings, with no emotion.
The fire consumed everything.

Get to the inside of your heart,
find a comfortable chair to sit
and tell you to brew the hot coffee before sipping,
Otherwise you may burn your tounge!

He never got the friendship, he craved.
She never got the love, she needed.

In the end, they both remained empty.

It left me
Alone. While I was asleep,
And never returned.

Tinkling roses and
Twinkling stars
Brings festive mood,
Forgetting every past scar.
