And what would you be
if not a confidant to my demons
and scrapbook to my thoughts?
What would you be in the years to come?
A guiding star?
Or a painful scar?
Or a silent reader to my poems?
Would you be a friend or someone
who would not be talked so often?
Would I still write about you
on the back of my journal?
Or would you just stand still
in a corner of my mind?
How long does a person last,
Before you let them pass?
Or they never pass at all
but stay in the ethereal silence!
Till the neurons are able to hold,
and wear off in soil and dust.

Friends or foe,
Who do you trust more?
Foes are loyal
They treat you the same
With animosity.
And they maintain it.
You know they would harm,
don't you?
But "friends"?
Some are true-blue.
And some are too good to be true.
They are elixirs of slow death.
You trust them, blindly.
And get bitten behind your back.
Who would you trust more?
Friends or foe?-

Lost friends!
I see lost friends,
Intrigued and estranged.
I wonder how swiftly
Our times have changed.
And then the last drop of sand falls down.....
