Pain and Fear, siblings to overcome
Placed through twisted paths
Each more perilous than last
After mending bones
Comes anew the trials
Turning sand to glass and water to stone-
Life is the fire
In which we temper our souls
A metamorphosis
Of diamonds from coal-
Empty
So Empty
Not Cracked
Not Broken
Just Numb
A Hole where my Heart should be
This One Half of Me
Full
So Full
Just Stuffed
Just Heavy
No Space
Too Much so You Can’t See
This Other Half of Me-
The wind blows
Light and cold
As she rows
Atop liquid gold
Surrounded by lilies that are white like the moon
Underneath the sun’s light, days pass
Shackled by a fearful tune
Away from the racket of war,
she turned a blind eye
Wishing to run away from all this hate
She looks foreword, yearning
Walking by
Eventually learning
To say goodbye
To her home and sky-
To live and laugh
To love and cry
To run and dance
To make the world mine-
Life isn't only black and white,
But grey in between,
And in a world full of colors,
Grey is the only one I've seen
Others see colors,
Darkness and light,
While I see balance,
Like the day and the night-
Time is irrelevant,
Time is infinite,
Time is everything and nothing,
Time is everywhere and nowhere,
You are within time,
So what are you?
You decide-
I hold on tight to the strings which holds my past,
In doing so, I let go of the strings which hold my future,
I hold on tight to my fears which hold me captive,
In doing so, I forget the feelings of flight, and freedom-
Like a painter to her canvas,
Yearning to be free,
Yearning to see her colors brighten,
And yet, how can she?
She hears her canvas taunting her,
"Oh no, what will you do!?"
Enraged, she prepares to demolish,
And instead she finds the message,
She was meant to receive.-
