In valleys once kissed by morning light
Laughed voices danced in breezes bright
Snowy peaks stood tall and near
Where love held hands, without fear
A bride’s soft veil, the crimson thread
In joy’s warm arms, her path was led
Children clung to fingers tight
In homes once bathed in golden light
But shadows crept with silent feet
And cursed those hearts in calm retreat
An evil struck with savage flame
And joy would never be the same
The bride's red mark was drowned in red
Her sacred bond torn, left for dead.
The hand that once gave gentle shade
By cruel hands was swiftly flayed.
A healer’s heart was ripped apart
Who once had breathed life into hearts.
Now wails rise high where hope once grew
The mountains echo cries that flew.
Fear now wraps these lands so tight
And darkness falls in place of light
I pray to God, for those who fell
Who walked through earth turned into hell.
My soul weeps dry no salve, no balm
No whispered prayer can bring them calm.
