You've been so short
yet so wonderful.

You came cold
leaving warm,
keeping fans on
and geysers off.
You were going to
hold my hand,
but leaving soon
empty hand.
I had plans for you
to make you special,
however life had different plans
and made it a hustle.
You left with memories
to cherish whole year,
and as you depart
the eyes are full of tears.
Life isn't great
but you still made it beautiful,
you've been so short
yet so wonderful.

ज़िन्दगी के इस जंगल में
कई खामोश शजर खड़े है,
कहीं से गुज़रे है कदम दबकर
कुछ राहों में तत्पर खड़े है,
हर एक शाख के पत्तों से
इक-इक मंज़र के सफ़हे लिखे है,
कुछ टूट कर बह गये हालातों के सावन में
कुछ आधे-अधूरे ख़्यालों से घिरे है,
ना मंज़िल की खबर, ना कोई सुराख़
बस वक़्त के सिलसिलों में बसर रहे है,
ज़िन्दगी के इस जंगल में
कई खामोश शजर खड़े है!

उतार देना सब कुछ एक कोरे पन्ने के सीने पर
और लड़ते रहना लफ्ज़ों के अखाड़े में
अक्सर बेहतर होता है...
क्योंकि पन्ने कभी सवाल नहीं करते
और लफ्ज़ एहसासों को इनकार नहीं करते!
शायद इसलिए, लिख लेना अक्सर बेहतर होता है!
