Sita tells Rama: Prabho! I have seen a Golden Deer around our hermitage, and I want it, come what may! Succumbing to demand of Sita, Rama starts chasing it, knowing fully well that there is nothing like Golden Deer in this world. When your bad karma are about to fructify, you loose your ability to think and discern.

All your entitlements are for a purpose. If you violate those norms (Maryada), soon it will be taken away from you. So, understand 'Maryada'. Ravana was himself a priest of highest order, but misused his 'Royal Priesthood', when time came, all entitlements were taken away by lord that too, in most ordinary form (vanvasi). Behold! As long as Rama kept cutting the heads of Ravana, nothing happened. As long as you keep attacking the manipulative behaviour of an individual , no results will be seen. Because the manipulative person would always counter argue and won't accept the mistakes. The moment amrit (nector) (which is placed elsewhere) is attacked, there comes an end to all manipulations. Only an insider (Vibhishana) would reveal where that amrit is located. (nector: the source of all manipulative behaviour).
When Rama viped that amrit out of Ravana's nabhi, there is an end to all manipulations (Maya). Behold! There is an insider behind the fall of all kingdoms, and there is a Rama, to end all your manipulations.
