Presume, assume, look through the glass and pass judgement,
Keeping your distance, the whispers carry on the breeze, the words pass your lips as easy as breathing,
Doing a duty, sharing what you know, keeping an eye out on the horizon.
There's no books, no fact checking just people's lives crushed in wayward hands, like sand.
Escape the grip, ignore the whispers, say hello.
Smile, laugh, ask questions and listen. You may just find something amazing.

Why lie?
Twist the truth to suit you, fill others minds of a vile fiction dreamed up in your own head because you couldn't get your own way.
The utopia you pictured never came to be reality so bitterness took over and the knife goes in.
Straight in the back while smiling sweetly to another's face, twist a bit harder for added effect.
Lies, games, jealousy, plotting, scheming, planning another's downfall to raise yourself up.
One day you'll be seen through and one day, it'll all come crashing down right from under your feet. The pedestal you created, built on lies, crashing down, further than you ever imagined possible because once you start one lie, there's no light at the end of the tunnel.
-
Giving in to familiar feelings again.
Trust, comfort, happiness.
Every time to be pulled back to reality.
It's never real, it's never for me.
The things they can get, the things I can give.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Round in circles, time after time.
How low? How hard?
Time to stop, to walk away.
No more to give, just an empty space where the trust and light used to be.
-
What were you expecting?
A chase?
A game of cat and mouse?
You won't get that from me, it's not who I am.
I'll stand and hold my head up high even while I'm breaking inside.
I won't let it show, you will never know the pain you caused. I won't give you that satisfaction.
I'll stand up, brush off the dust, dry my eyes and keep going. Accepting the hands held out of the ones I trust, the ones whose loyalty has never come into question.
Using what's in my head, what's left in my heart and the strength the real ones provide when mine is gone, I can get through anything.
You can't hurt me.
Look for your chase elsewhere because you'll never find it here.

Where does the truth end and the lies start?
Is it just a tangled spider web weaved with such precision and forethought at the beginning but now the true meaning is lost?
Words built into stories to alleviate more heart break, not knowing when to stop, when enough was enough, when it was time to release the truth.
Tear off the plaster, it's quick and painless but lies don't work that way. They open the wound to be as fresh as the first cut perhaps opening new ones along the way. How many cuts is okay before a new plaster is needed?
Bring out the comforting lies like arms wrapped around in a secure hug and start the spiders web over.
One day it will break, that thin and fragile web. The chaos of the lies is a dust pile blowing around in the wind. The shattered heart, a heap of broken promises, beyond repair this time.

Games are to play on a board, not in people's heads.
Games are to be played outside, not with someone's emotions.
Games are supposed to be fun, not hurtful.
Games include cards or dice, not heart's.
Games should induce laughter, not tears.
Games should come from an innocent imagination, not a twisted mind.
If the only games you can play will destroy someone else along the way, buy a deck of cards or play hopscotch, don't toy with people's hearts.

Don't look too close, It's a flawed design.
Better off further away, where you can't see the pain.
Stay back, just there.
Arms length, I'll keep you there.
A safer distance to save the future,
Let's not prolong the torture.
There's no eggshells to step on there and no armour is needed.
Don't push too far, that much is all that this can cope with.
So stay back, just there.
Don't look to close at this flawed design.

The darkness unless you're prepared to see what comes from the shadows.
