Filing of annual Reconciliation statement GSTR 9C for the year 2020-21 has been enabled on GST portal. Companies and other assesses are required to exercise additional and more comprehensive checks internally before the GSTR 9C is uploaded on the GST portal. Now, whole responsibility of the accuracy of data lies on the authorised signatories/KMPs. Companies maintaining Cost Records under section 148 need to cross verify the GST data with the costing data too.

Effective September 2020, New system is to begin where in there will be complete linkage of GSTR 1, GSTR 2B and GSTR 3B. While GSTR 1 denotes liability, GSTR 2A will help in knowing GSTR-1 filing date of suppliers for ITC , filing status of GSTR 3B, amendment of invoices and date of cancellation of suppliers’ registration. 2B, on the other hand, shows possible credit. GSTR 3B indicates actual tax payment. “This will put a complete check on liability mismatch and greater check on Input Tax Credit (ITC) mismatch

The financial crisis, due to the pandemic, is not paltry. The impact is not because of trade imbalances, exchange rate movements or changes in market interest rates. This is no doubt one of the biggest challenges before economic policymakers of our country and the world.

As a responsible citizen of our country, I would like to implore our fellow citizens to take care of each other irrespective of our race, religion, cast and creed. Also, our government should explore all means to get tactical support of the countries which are able to do well in this crisis.
