NEET is no longer just an entrance exam—it has become a ruthless yardstick of a child's worth, a family’s honour, and social standing. In many households, children are treated not as individuals but as vessels for parental ambition, where underperformance invites humiliation, fury, or even violence. A home, which should offer safety and solace, often becomes a theatre of psychological warfare, as unhealed generational traumas are projected onto children.

This week, a chilling headline—"Man Beats 17-Year-Old Daughter To Death For Low Marks In NEET Mock Test"—laid bare the brutal cost of this toxic culture. Coaching institutes feed on this pressure, schools overlook emotional well-being, and families normalize trauma in the name of discipline. In such a system, failure becomes fatal, and success, the only acceptable identity.

When a child's dignity is tied to a score, and rage replaces guidance, we must question not just individual actions but an entire ecosystem complicit in this cruelty. This isn’t about one exam—it’s about a nation’s collective neglect of compassion. Real change begins by dismantling the mindset that equates suffering with success.

A veritable tour de force, "Gram Chikitsalay" is a delectably poignant dramedy that encapsulates the rustic rhythms of rural India with wit, warmth, and whimsical candour. Effortlessly oscillating between hilarity and heartfelt depth, it eschews cliché for authenticity—leaving viewers both mirthful and moved. A luminous triumph of Indian storytelling.

I had the pleasure to watch “I Want to Talk,” a powerful reflection on life’s struggles and resilience. As the film poignantly reminds us, “Pain is the promise that life always keeps.” Arjun Sen, given just 100 days to live, defies fate for over 10,000, battling his own flaws along the way. Shoojit Sircar masterfully blends realism and emotion, much like “Gulabo Sitabo”. Abhishek Bachchan delivers a brilliant performance, supported by Ahilya Bamroo and young Pearl Dey. Stunning cinematography, a heartfelt script, and Taba Chake’s soulful “Musafir” make this film deeply moving, leaving behind contemplation and hope.

How did ISKCON get my number? Who else got the same? Never visited, never bought, never shared—yet I get donation texts. Who’s selling our data? Major privacy breach! 😒

Not every film is meant for everyone, Marco is, without doubt, the most violent film I’ve encountered, with scenes that are deeply unsettling. The latter half descends into horrifying brutality as a family, including women and children, is subjected to relentless torture. Kabir Duhan Singh delivers a terrifying performance as Cyrus Isaac, especially during the 15-minute massacre of the Marco family. While the film is 'A' certified, its gratuitous glorification of cruelty crosses ethical boundaries. Such excessive violence, particularly involving children, feels unnecessary and morally wrong. I strongly discourage watching Marco for its lack of accountability.

Having managed to watch "Lucky Bhaskar," I must say it encapsulates cinematic sophistication, seamlessly uniting Dulquer Salmaan’s electrifying presence with a narrative that brims with energy and wit. The film’s sleek visuals and faultless pacing create an immersive experience, making it a must-watch for lovers of engaging, fast-paced cinema.

That educators who have repeatedly failed to do what they are hired to do, and trained to do, should take on sweeping roles as amateur psychologists, sociologists, and social philosophers seems almost inexplicable—except that they are doing it with other people’s money and experimenting on other people’s children.

Privileged to behold the magnum opus, Jawan, that exemplifies an extraordinary masterpiece that enchants viewers from inception to conclusion. With its impeccable storytelling, captivating visuals, and stellar performances, it sets a new benchmark in cinematic brilliance. Its compelling narrative, coupled with breathtaking cinematography that meticulously captures landscapes and intricate details, is a visual delight. Noteworthy is Shah Rukh Khan's poignant mention of farmers' suicides, encephalitis-related child mortality, and a plea to refrain from supporting politicians who stoke divisions based on caste and religion – a thought-provoking message that may require additional 'Burnol' supplies for some.

Got to watch Jai Bhim. A fine investigative thriller and a courtroom drama that will totally pin your attention and keep you glued for 2.44 hours. Extremely pertinent film dealing with cast discrimination & crimes against a section of society. Immense maturity shown by Suriya Sivakumar to let the story take prominence and play within its boundaries!

A regime doesn’t exactly make an announcement when it falls. It ceases to exist. This is exactly what I predicted just a few days back.
