When I go back to the riverside
And the breeze brushes past my hair
My heart hums the same songs
An impeccable memory retains from
your Carefully curated playlist
Across my veins I feel the rush
Of fresh warm blood like it did
When your first kiss sketched
Goosebumps all over my skin!
As if a magic wand just takes
All my pain away in a jiffy...
Your fragrance so fresh still lingers
like the only smell I remember...
Flashes of evenings filled with
Passion from unknown streets
amid hill towns we trudged together
Laughter filled air at dawn and dusk
Comes running back to me
As I lay in trance near the place
Where we once lay uninhibited
Aloof of the world counting stars
Gazing at the moon in love
For we both knew destiny drew
Us close, for it was never just
a blind date to be flicked away!

Where they find the rainbows above
Beyond the horizons of the cryptic mind
That chisels our dreams to fit in
Like a demon shoved beneath my bed
Unseen unheard it threatens in the dark
Lurking beside me, sometimes hovering around
When it feels breathless and vulnerable
With pangs of doubt and fear smothering
Your not so guilty conscience tethered
Unto the fallacies of righteousness
Framed and built into walls of prejudice
While the clock ticking on the wall resonates
with the pacing heartbeat at the dawn of
A night that had quietly fought a tough battle
Against self inflicted trepidation and decry.
But when the sun rose, a morning was born
As I unwind myself, to flutter my wings as
Hopes for the rainbow have been set again!

Promises that face the tormenting brunt
Those motionless days that simply pass by
With a gaze so undeterred so fixed unto the sky
Tireless eyes that quietly in chaos rain
Pacifying the heart's insurmountable pain
To gather broken pieces of a shattered mind
Rebellious in vengeance at destiny unkind
When the blues of once so amorous passion
spill so ruthlessly without commotion
In an uncomfortable silence does this havoc wreck
With a cry that echoes the world just for love's sake! ..

Struggling without respite
Until my mind cajoles the heart
Unspoken, unsaid words
exchanged within random
Nervous connections, executing
Unseen Chemical reactions
And yet another day dawns
beaconing life to kick back
again with more courage
And passion!!

Gleaming eyes twinkle
Like a million stars above
Smiling back in furore!
Just as your face reveals
More than what I behold

Of my passionate breathe

Odds fumble and destiny mumbles
