Amidst tangled earphones, three sanitizers,
A monthly calendar showing the month of March,
A book called 'Top Visionaries' lies beside it,
Stranded practice papers of a graduate physics student,
A laptop with slow internet but
with tabs ranging from
Pandemic news, hand lettering ideas, Wikipedia, lexicon,
Stack exchange and a random pdf
Oh! Not to mention the smartphone
Trying to connect to other people
Stuck like me (but doing a great job, because hey! social distancing is the topmost priority for our country)
Mom calls me for some help
Some nights get so late
And there lies the Buddha lamp
Being peaceful and calm in solitude

It just takes a few seconds
To come back to normal, it all depends
On how you control your anger
And that sense of helplessness and despair
A roller coaster running in your mind
Whose clear path you'll have to find
Till you wait for that stir to settle
Close your eyes for a while
And wear a calm smile

His face is red with anger
He isn't himself
He is lost in his world
A world that is ephemeral
But not a word spoken
All that she could see
And what is clearly visible
He needed her the most
Her warmth, her words
And her love

A teddy bear
To whom I laugh so hard
Whose eyes are mesmerizing
Is still with me for 20 years
Who makes me fall asleep
Like a baby on it's
Mother's lap

You really feel that
My absence is a void
In your wonderful day
Or my presence makes you
Lighten up and smile

Old things can
Bring out fresh memories
May this new year
Bring a new 'You'
