खूप सारी माती
या परक्या मुलखातल्या परसदारी..

पाऊस पडला की
श्वासात आवर्जून भरून घेते
दूरवर पसरू पाहणारे गंध माझ्या मातीचे...

कधी खूप एकटं एकटं वाटलं की
चालून घेते अनवाणी पायांनी
माझ्याच मातीत...

मातीशी अजूनही नाळ तुटली नाही
एवढंच समाधान मनाला...

उद्या माझ्याच मातीने मला विचारू नये,
'तुझे नि माझे नाते काय?'
आणि 'पुसू' नये ओळख
आमच्या संबंधाची..

दरवेळी मातृभूमीतून येताना
मी आणत असते
माझी माती
माझ्याचसाठी...
