He thought, he met his soulmate,
a home, where he felt like himself, confide without the fear of being judged.

He thought, she'd be there,
Understand him, like the back of her hand,
Alas, she slipped away to find her home,
and vanished like sand from the hand.

A fairy tale, sans the magic carpet or rubbing of the mystical lamp, Stranded, not knowing where to go, drowned drinking to his sorrows.

He thought, she'll be there.
Reassured, she's happy,
He whispered, "I am there"
Broken, yet there.
the mate was gone and the soul wandered everywhere.

And he was lost in his thoughts

How does pain look like ?

It’s the loneliness in a room full of laughter,
the melancholic music during the drive,
a tear rolling from the corner of the eye,
and then laughing it off, reassuring, it’ll be alright.

It’s the voracious appetite, binge eating,
watching television, like all entertainment ends today.

Pain looks like a busy person,
who is breathing but forgotten to live,
The best dressed person,
and the soul take a toll.

At times living in hope to get back what’s lost,
and then convincing one self, what’s lost is for the best,
Bawling over the loss & pretending it meant nothing at all.

Pain looks confused. Pain looks hopeless.
And all that Pain needs, I am there, I understand.

She was present, yet not there,
smiling with him, but sight elsewhere,

He was no longer her home,
and he saw her mind roam.

He saw her in pain,
Hiding her tears,
Crying in rain.

Heard her laughter,
echo in a noisy room.

And poof! It all vanished,
and felt like a distant dream.

She was present, yet not there,
smiling with him, but eyes elsewhere,

He was no longer her home,
and he saw her mind roam.

He stood by,
had her back,
awaiting her return “home”

And they met again many years later,
and connected like they saw each other yesterday,
the reminisced the years gone by,
laughed like there’s no tomorrow,

There were jokes and sarcasm,
And stories around their passions,
their kids who were growing up quick,
And the one liners made them quip,

They bared their soul,
heard the stories untold,
time just paused,
A little silence and lost in thoughts.

Many years later, the bond remained,
they just spoke like yesterday,
Some things never change,
such connections are not made these days

New places, new people
sometimes a dichotomy,
at times, confusing.
yet, there is a spark,
that gets you going,
amidst the pain and the smiles.

In the dark clouds, seeing hope,
of a fresh start, a renewed beginning.
Still holding on to the thread, that connects you to things, you intend leaving.

The intent not know, the purpose blurry,
a sweet sour moment, finding peace even in the worries.
And just when you start loving the place and the people,
you are hit by the dichotomy
and drown in confusion.

Behind the smiles…..

Layers of worries and doubts,
Confusion, yet telling the heart,
to go with the flow.
hiding behind, whatever will be, will be.

the longing that seems to lure from afar,
yet no where in sight
The urge to break the shackles,
to fly free,
and walk in the clouds.

And amidst all the chaos,
and the unrequited hope,
all the disquiet and the imbalances,
The smile camouflages the despair.

Two Minds

Hold on or Let Go,
Be there, or give a break,
No! They don’t need you,
But just cause you need,
You hold on to them and curb their freedom?
Not letting them follow their dreams,
cause you want them?
They being sweet and considerate not to hurt you or
they need you, but don’t accept it ?
Life keeps throwing situations,
what matters at the end of it all is not what you achieve, but what you become.
Uncertainty or Peace….One needs to choose between the two…
Yet not as simple as that, until, you close your eyes and see where you belong.

Some like to create memories,
Others a bond.

Some have a reason,
Others, just flow.

Some have to let go, to embark on something new.
Others, embrace everything that’s possibly true.

Some believe not all bonds are for real,
Others accept that every soul they meet, has a role.

But at the end of it, it’s not about the bonds and memories.

What matters, is your peace

At times, We look the other way,
Some times, We take the first step,
other times, we want to talk to end it all.
It’s important to talk to restart or to end,
It’s not for them, but self,
cause more than anything, what matters,
Is some certainty and our own peace of mind.

Talk not to lose, but to win!

If trying to be a good person comes
at the cost of your own peace,
then you are being good
to everyone but yourself.
