I survive in words, I thrive in silence

Since I was 3 feet tall and a bit too small, I built a cocoon around me, for me; a really comfortable cocoon where I was self-sufficient, self-reliant, and enough. I survived in words, thrived in silence. Not needing more, not wanting more. Soon comfort transformed to complacency and years passed me by.
Then one day I became a mother. A mother to the most lovely little baby girl, who is 10 years old now.
She survives in words and thrives in silence too and she, too, like her mamma, loves her cocoon. But my girl need not be in her shell, need not hide her spirit, need not shy away from shine, need not be afraid of flying...
So this mamma is ready to come out and be a butterfly now, for her girl and for herself....
And this mamma butterfly now proudly flutters around in Your Quote in hope to give and receive love, in hope to appreciate and be appreciated, in hope to learn, grow, and fly higher. 🙏

I HAD a future
I HAVE a past
Each day,
I die slowly.
Each day,
I forever last...

अल्लाह उन्हें जन्नत नसीब करें,
जो हमारी तबाही की दुआं माँगते हैं
अब सारे हिसाब तो जीते जी तो चुकता नहीं होंगे?

Yesterday I took my 6 year old, who is not too fond of getting a hair cut, for a hair cut.

Sitting on a booster (so he can be elevated to the manly height) that was placed across the handles of the salon chair, he was already making displeased faces!
The professional put his artistic hands to work, aiming to give my sons’ disorderly head, a manicured look. My son was happy about the overgrown hair being off his head but was totally irritated about them stopping on his face first before making their way onto the salon floor. In that frustrated vein, he groaned a little and let out a mild whimper. The hairstylist disapproved and tried to motivate the 6 year old lad into feeling good. He said to my son, “oh c’mon, there’s no reason to fuss. You are boy, you are strong, you don’t cry like a little girl?”
Without a wink or a blink, came a reply from the little boy, “what do you mean by don’t fuss and cry like a little girl????? My sister NEVER fusses while getting a hair cut, and I always fuss. I fuss because I don’t like it not because I am a girl or a boy!”
In that moment I thought- No, he doesn’t need a booster to gain his manly height! He’s man enough already!

Once
love professed
promises made
bodies tasted,
a few times,
It won’t be the
the hurricane,
you fell for...
It will be still waters
that run deep.
It will be quiet
and true
and familiar.
But darling,
You are not
cut out for that.
You hate stale anything.
Your favorite thing to say
is- “surprise me”
So let our eyes flirt,
flirting suits us just right.
The thing you like best
about me is
how young I look.
Then why in world
Would you want to
Dream about us
growing OLD together?

Embracing all colors in their true beauty
Neither lamenting or pining for yesteryears
Nor anticipating or worrying over tomorrow
Breathing in the moment that is NOW
Feeling the wind of ‘Today’ beneath my wings
Wholly present in my present
I break free of my cocoon,
Carefree but cautious butterfly, I am
Surrendering completely to my flight!
Simply living.
Nothing less. Nothing more.

There are two kinds of problems.

One that can be solved; if it can be solved, it must be solved and once it’s solved , it is no longer a problem.

Another that can not be solved because it’s not in your control. And if can not be solved, then it’s really not a problem, is it?
