The year was Ninteen Ninty Nine,
That dark night,
The quietude of those chilly winters,
Those Lionhearts slunk gradually,
With only one zeal,
To proclaim victory was all what they longed,
With loaded ammunition,
Leaving behind their kinsfolk,
Holding their positions with motherland's thought,
Nervousness vanished through bravery and determination,
Their solidarity, compassion paved the way towards the victory,
The battle lasted for three months,
Our bravehearts were so devoted,
The battle roar to victory,
They proclaimed the Tiger hill,
The pride of Kargil,
They laid their lives for the nation's glory,
Their kith and kin cried and the whole country was sorry,
The nation's heart swelled with pride.
KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS
