Why should I take your permission to be happy?

Even a small lamp may illuminate the darkest rooms.
However, the lamp will have to burn its own wick to do it.

Let's go back in time;
when we were naive and things were not complicated.

सर्द हवाओं का मौसम चला है
हर जगह बर्फ की परतें जमी हैं।
खिड़कियों के बाहर कुछ नजर नहीं आ रहा
और सांसें ठंड से जमी जा रहीं हैं।
सीने में दफन दिल भी
घर के चूल्हे की तरह ठंडा पड़ गया।
ठोड़ी सी गर्माहट के लिए हमने
घर के आंगन में अलाव लगाया।
आग की तपिश ने चंद सांसें तो पिघला दीं
लेकिन रिश्तों के आभाव ने दिल में गरमाहट होने नहीं दी।
खिडकी पे जमी बर्फ की परतें भी हट गयीं
लेकिन बाहर कोई परिचित चेहरा नजर नहीं आया।
हमने अलाव की लपटों को सुला दिया।
ठंड का बहाना,
एकाकी होने के अहसास से बेहतर जो लगता है।

जिन्हें ताजा रखना पड़ता है।

आधी रात को जब नींद अपने पहरे से उठी,
हम, चंद सांसें, ताज़ी हवा में लेने के लिए बाहर चल पड़े।
वातावरण में फैले धुएं ने ताज़ी हवा देने से इन्कार कर दिया,
और हम, उस धुएं में दो कश और जोड़ आए।

कुछ तो नशा है तेरे प्यार का,
क्योंकि
होंठ तो सिगरेट को चूम ही लेते हैं
मगर लाइटर उसे सुलगा नहीं पाते हैं।

Me: I want to stay healthy and fit, build more muscles, increase my stamina.
My body: Phoolon ki laashon men taazgee chahta hai,
Aadmi Chut!y@ hai, Kuch bhi chahta hai.

People get punished
for the words they said
and the deeds they did.
This is called Karma.
I'm getting punished
for the words I should've said
and the deed I should've done.
This is also Karma.
